Smartphones, laptops, smart speakers and such like are used as passive audio surveillance tools with marketing purposes. They are used to bring hyper-targeted adds to users.
The Anti-Surveillance muzzle is a mask for hiding your voice from being heard by electronic devices, using ultrasonics. The Ultrasonic Speaker of the Muzzle hacks these devices’ always-on microphones, by making them unable to record anything but noise while the muzzle is working.
Project exhibited in May 2019 at Notting Hill Arts Club, London.
